Jessica Rowe and Susan Carr, whose work is on view in Open House: Photographs by Susan Carr and Jessica Rowe, an exhibition organized as a part of the museum’s Midwest Photographer’s Project, will discuss their piecture of the quirky contents of the homes of people who have lived ar the same address for decades.

John F. Sherry, an anthropologist who studies both the sociocultural and symbolic dimensions of consumption and the cultural ecology of marketing, will discuss consumption as evidenced in the international works on view in Manufactured Self. Dr. Sherry has been a professor of marketing at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, since 1984 and has served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies in foreign and domestic operations. He is the author of Contemporary Marketing and Consumer Behavior: an Anthropological Sourcebook.
