Exhibiting Midwest Photographerâ??s Project artists Anna Shteynsleyger, New Catalogue, and Alan Cohen will discuss the aesthetic, historical and philosophical issues related to photographing landscapes marked by human history and tragedy. This discussion will be moderated by Joel Snyder, professor of art history at the University of Chicago, coeditor of the journal Critical Inquiry and author of numerous essays on photographic theory and history.

Ono will discuss the physical and mental construction of real and imagined landscapes in the work of Beate Gütschow and in the practice of landscape architecture. Ono, who co-wrote the introductory text for Beate Gütschow: LS/S, is a practicing landscape architect with an MA in the history of art and architecture.
