An exhibition of over 80 photographs by photographer Garry Winograd, organized by Fraenkel Gallery, San Francisco, with an accompanying publication produced by Fraenkel Gallery and distributed Art publishers, Incorporated. Garry Winorgrad began to take photographs in 1948, working in photojournalism and advertising through the 1950's and 1960's. The street was a major source of inspiration for Winograd's images, although he claimed that there was "no such thing as street photography." The photographs in Man in the Crowd: The Uneasy Streets of Gary Winograd represent groups and individuals on city streets in the midst of moving from one place to another, and offering Winograd's characteristic sharp eye sifting through masses of humanity to record revealing glimpses of human behavior.
