Barbara Crane: From Coloma to Covert Sticks 1

Barbara Crane,Still Lifes: Sticks, 1997

About the Exhibition

Barbara Crane’s work is often concerned with chance, time, and visual idiosyncrasies in nature. This installation, which consisted of six oversized images of sticks that were propped up leaning in the intermezzo space, conveyed the essential simplicity of each stick. In 1993 Crane retired from teaching at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago as professor emeritus.
