About the Exhibition

Chicago based Antonia Contro (United States, born 1957) creates intricate installations that  explore themes of journey and transformation inspired by her own Venetian heritage.  She is represented by several assemblages that incorporate photography as well as a collaborative installation made with Maurizio Pellegrin (Italy, born 1956). Pellegrin also presents a large scale wall collage comprised of framed photographs and objects, some of which are wrapped in black cloth. This wrapping conjures a sense of timelessness, sacredness and mystery.
