Tate, who wrote the book’s corresponding essay, will present a glimpse into his thoughts on Bey’s 1988-1991 series, which focused on portraits of African Americans in various American cities through the lens of a large format tripod-mounted camera. Bey and Tate will also discuss Bey’s larger practice and coinciding solo exhibition at Stephen Daiter Gallery. Free of charge, masks and proof of vaccination required for entry.
