Alayna N. Pernell is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and educator. She assists with community engagement initiatives and public programming that connect artists, institutions, and communities through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and collaborative programming. She also collaborates with Kristin Taylor and Kyli Hawks on the Art, Activism, Policy, Power Program.
Additionally, she is an Associate Lecturer of Photography and Imaging at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also a Content Editor for Lenscratch, and a certified yoga teacher.
Pernell received a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and a minor in African American Studies from The University of Alabama and an MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
