Artist Kelvin Haizel and Dr. Robert Hanserd
Tuesday, March 8, 2 p.m. CT
Presented virtually on Zoom

Exhibiting artist Kelvin Haizel’s multidisciplinary practice lies in encounters, clashes, and ruptures—as well as fictively remembering historic events. He expresses his ideas through video, photography, installations, and objects. Haizel works on solo projects as well as collaboratively, as an active member of theblaxTARLINES KUMASI experimental incubator of contemporary art (Department of Painting & Sculpture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology – Ghana), Exit Frame, and the Àsìkò Art School. Dr. Robert Hanserd (Columbia College Chicago) centers his academic focus on West African culture and history and its circulation throughout the Atlantic World (West Africa, America, and Western Europe). His research interests include inquiry of Africa diasporas from a range of interdisciplinary, historical, and cultural settings, study abroad programming, multi-media research and production, and public history.
