About the Exhibition

Anna Fox (Great Britain, born 1961) explores the Dutch holiday tradition of Zwarte Piet (Black Peter), the black-faced servant of Sinterklaas. Her color portraits of people dressed as Zwarte Piet raise questions regarding what it means to hold on to such a tradition in the face of growing racial diversity in the Netherlands.
