About the Exhibition

The exhibition DECADES celebrates ten years of collecting practices at the Museum with a presentation of works in the following decades– the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s– relative to the Museum’s collecting practices, and a special selection of works from one prior decade– the 1940s– that includes a selection of Dorothea Lange’s and Walker Evans’ earlier works which were generously donated to the Museum by Katherine Taylor Loesch and Arnold Crane.  The exhibition will feature the works of such contemporary American artists as Harold Allen, Marilyn Bridges, Marsha Burns, Harry Callahan, Larry Clark, Barbara Crane, Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Bruce Davidson, Roy DeCarava, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Frank Gohlke, Robert Heinecken, George Hurrell, Joseph Jachna, Michael Johnson, Les Krims, Dorothea Lange, Wayne R. Lazorik, Nathan Lerner, Danny Lyon, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Susan Meiselas, Roger Mertin, Ray K.
