David Ireland
About the Exhibition
David Ireland’s (United States, born 1930) works have never fit comfortably within any traditional category of art. He has been categorized as a sculptor, an architect, an installation artist, a performance artist and, quite recently, as a photographer. Ireland’s painted photographs from a series made on the island of Skellig, located off the southern coast of Ireland, reflect his ability to uncover the psychological spirit of place.
