About the Exhibition

Thomas Joshua Cooper (Lives in Scotland, born United States 1946) investigates the persistent beauty of the sea in his black-and-white photographs of the waves, whirlpools, rocks and breakers of oceans around the world. Using an antique field camera, Cooper often photographs at points charged with history, such as the area on the coast of Iceland from where Lief Ericson departed in the eleventh century to explore the New World.
